DSLR Dust Prevention
Specifically Canon EOS Digital SLR camera in the past have been
dust magnets concerning the CCD. Even at F8 I've had dust
particles showing up on my two year old 1D, 10D, and D60.
Living in Southeast Texas can have it's disadvantages when it
comes to changing lenses outside and it has shown up in my
photos more than I care to remember. Trying to be careful and
only changing out the lens' when in the car, or run into a
building or park restroom. Still I would get dust particles.
After purchasing the new Canon EOS 1D MK II this has not been so
much of an issue lately - It seems that maybe Canon has taken
steps to help prevent dust particles from adhering to the CCD.
But, I still carrying my CCD cleaning kit with me where ever I
go just in case. - It's a pain, what are the alternatives?
If you have the funds, I highly suggest getting separate cameras
for the most used lens' in your photo arsenal and attach them
and leave. It's a hassle to carry more equipment but, it almost
guarantees you that you will not have the dust particle invasion
that we are used to.
